The Cat Care Clinic recommends the following vaccines and health maintenance procedures to
maintain your cat's health.
- 6-8 Weeks:
Distemper Vaccine #1 (Respiratory combination)
Check Stool for internal parasites.
- 9-11 Weeks:
Distemper Vaccine #2, Feline Leukemia - First booster,
Test for Feline Leukemia.
- 12-14 Weeks:
Distemper Vaccine #3, Feline Leukemia - Second booster,
Rabies Vaccine, Check stool for internal parasites.
- 3-6 Months:
Declaw (if desired), and neuter or spay (ovariohysterectomy).
- 1-8 Years:
Annual physical exam and vaccines (Distemper,
Feline Leukemia, Rabies). Ultrasonic scaling and polishing
of teeth (if needed). Check stool for internal parasites
(important for cats that go outside).
- 9+ Years:
Annual physical exam and vaccines.Ultrasonic scaling
and polishing of teeth (if needed). Periodic testing for
early detection of age-related ailments (may include
x-ray, blood test, EKG, urinalysis).
